| Gran Canaria has an important number of shopping areas which are situated in the main towns and tourist places. Hypermarkets, shopping centres and department stores together with the traditional trade, bazaars and crafts shops will cover everything you need when going shopping. The South of the island, tourist area par excellence, has also many shopping centres where you will find outstanding international registered trademarks and typical Canarian products. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, capital city of the island, with approximately 400.000 inhabitants, has an important trading tradition. The two most important shopping areas are: Triana y Mesa y López, with a big variety of shops. We cannot forget the two new shopping centres La Ballena and Las Arenas, which offer all types of services including restaurants, cinemas and children facilities. There are two other important shopping areas located in Telde, in La Mareta, and Santa Lucía de Vecindario, with big shopping centres with a big range of services. | ||
